To familiarise you with the roles and functions  of HRM in a small to medium sized business


Learning Outcomes

At the end of this section, you will be able to:

  1. Discuss the role of HRM in a small to medium sized business

  2. Describe the content and functions of the pre-recruitment phase

  3. Discuss the considerations involved in the short listing and selection of candidates

  4. Describe the content of a contract of employment and employment legislation

  5. Discuss the elements that effect employee motivation and job satisfaction

  6. Discuss the purpose of a Performance Appraisal and the steps involved in planning and appraisal
